We read a lot of astrology at Jumble & Flow and started hunting for 2022 horoscopes as soon as they hit the Internet. Here’s a curated roundup of some of the best quality and most thorough annual predictions according to the stars — for every Zodiac sign.
Come for the deep, thinkerly insights by Gala Mukomolova, stay for the artful slideshow of illustrations by Tan Sze Yan.
Mukomolova, a Moscow-born, Brooklyn-raised poet and essayist astrologer, incorporates food for thought into each annual scope. Here’s a taste from the intro: “The fact that we end 2021 with a full moon in Gemini followed by a last quarter moon in Libra is both a gift and a difficult reminder that all opposites live in relationship and all relationships are a meditation on duality.”
“2022 is the year to find your community. And if you’re not ready to end toxic relationships, a string of eclipses will do it for you.” That’s how Sophie Saint Thomas opens her collection of astrological predictions, followed by a high-level play-by-play of key dates for all signs to keep in mind (psst, Gemini, get ready for sexy times in the summer.)
A few key 2022 dates to keep in mind for all signs:
• “Saturn, which rules discipline, authority, and government structures, is in independent Aquarius for the year,” writes Saint Thomas. “This influence motivates us to identify our values, live authentically, and do our best to exert change on a grand scale that reflects such values. In other words, 2022 sees us motivated to be the best version of ourselves and continue to work hard to affect policy change.”
Warning! Mercury goes retrograde four times in 2022
There are a whopping four Mercury retrogrades in 2022 and you know what that means: “Make sure to allow extra time for travel and expect delays,” Saint Thomas writes. “There also tends to be technological annoyances, such as internet blackouts and other slowdowns.”
Astrologer-journalist Maressa Brown gets to the point but also sees the potential good in what other astrologers might otherwise interpret as a negative. For example: “Thanks to four eclipses in fixed signs Taurus and Scorpio and more retrogrades than usual, you’ll have many opportunities to slow down, revise, and ultimately shake up anything that’s no longer serving you.” Amen to that.
Mary Bergner says 2022 is the year we’ve all been waiting for! Really?
Each astrological sign gets an intro that tells it like it is followed by a more in-depth section for 2022 Love and 2022 Work forecasts based on your star chart.
You know an astrologer’s onto something when Alicia Keys deems your book a “time machine.” That’s the case for the The AstroTwins’ 2022 Horoscope book.
If you don’t already know the talented twins — Ophira and Tali Edut — you might recognize their signature style of writing from their side gig as the official astrologers for ELLE magazine.
At more than 600 pages, this is deliciously indulging reading for super astro fans who enjoy referring back to predictions each month — for themselves and those near and dear to them. Love, money, health, and a month-by-month “hotspot” date planner for all 12 star signs — it’s all here.
